چکیده

The conversion of plastic wastes into benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX) is a promising strategy to achieve circular economy carbon neutrality. Here, the ex situ catalytic fast pyrolysis epoxy-printed circuit boards (PCBs) waste tires (WTs) was studied using hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites biochar (BC). results show that alkali–acid treatment created micromesoporous structures with higher specific surface area, promote BTX formation. Particularly, treated 0.2 M NaOH (2MZ) resulted in yield 15.6 times larger than obtained without catalysts; correspondingly, yields phenolic brominated compounds were reduced. BC promoted depolymerization PCB pyrolyzates provided debromination efficiency 96%. combination 2MZ highest producing compounds. Sequential experiments indicated that, by effectively removing bromine, helped maintain activity 2MZ. Additionally, copyrolysis PCBs WTs an increased mitigated deactivation simultaneously. proposed advanced for environmentally friendly upcycling heteroatom-containing toward production.

Pyrolysis of Printed Circuit Boards

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is an essential component of almost all electrical and electron ic equipments. The rapid growth of the use of such equipments has contributed enormously to the generation of large quantity of waste PCBs. The WPCBs not only contain valuable metals but also a large variety of hazardous materials. Conventional treatments of such WPCBs have their own limitations. By pyro...

Kinetic Study of the Pyrolysis of Waste Printed Circuit Boards Subject to Conventional and Microwave Heating

This paper describes a kinetic study of the decomposition of waste printed circuit boards (WPCB) under conventional and microwave-induced pyrolysis conditions. We discuss the heating rates and the influence of the pyrolysis on the thermal decomposition kinetics of WPCB. We find that the thermal degradation of WPCB in a controlled conventional thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) occurred in the tem...

Tailoring ZSM-5 Zeolites for the Fast Pyrolysis of Biomass to Aromatic Hydrocarbons.

The production of aromatic hydrocarbons from cellulose by zeolite-catalyzed fast pyrolysis involves a complex reaction network sensitive to the zeolite structure, crystallinity, elemental composition, porosity, and acidity. The interplay of these parameters under the reaction conditions represents a major roadblock that has hampered significant improvement in catalyst design for over a decade. ...

LEACHING OF METALS FROM WASTE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS (WPCBs) USING SULFURIC AND NITRIC ACIDS

This study aims to understand the acid-leaching behavior of metals from 2 to 4 mm waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) containing 22.0% ± 1.1 Cu, 6.7% ± 0.2 Ca, 0.68% ± 0.02 Sn, 0.59 ± 0.01 % Pb, 2.71% ± 0.08 Al, 0.22% ± 0.01 Fe, etc.. Copper leaching was increased for sulfuric acid concentrations up to 1.2 mol/L and hydrogen peroxide concentrations of 10.0 vol% for a pulp density of 100 g/L at...
